Everyone in the world is cordially invited to celebrate World Cyanotype Day wherever you find yourself on Saturday September 24, 2022 by gathering with friends old & new in backyards, parking lots or gallery spaces and creating cyanotype flags interpreting the word, experience, or concept of...



Strung together in locations all over the world, the flags symbolize our united hearts & creative minds.  


Our online exhibit of cyanotypes is open to all but must meet a few guidelines.  


General Guidelines…


ELIGIBILITY: Membership in the World Cyanotype Day Facebook group is required in order to be included in this online exhibit.  However, you do not have to be a member of our Facebook group in order to celebrate!

Images must involve the cyanotype process in at least part of the process or product.  Creativity is encouraged. WCD exhibitions are open to all members of "World CyanotypeDay" Facebook group.



THEME: “ENLIGHTEN” – Whatever it means to you, however you may experience it,  show us an image of what “ENLIGHTEN” means to you so we may all encourage  and  inspire each other.

IMAGE SIZE: 72 dpi, 1200 px on the long side, sRGB, File size must be under 2MB


IMAGE FORMAT: Save as .jpg


FILE NAMING: lastname_firstinitial_title.jpg Please do not use symbols or spaces in the file name.

SUBMIT: Email your entry to entries.worldcyanotypeday@gmail.com Type the name of the show (ENLIGHTEN) in the subject line. Teachers may submit one image personally, and one per student. (Teachers - please send each entry in a separate email.)

In the body of the email, please include the following IN THIS ORDER:


  1. Your Facebook profile name (for verification only).

  2. Your name as you wish it to appear in the online gallery.

  3. The title of your piece in quotation marks.

  4. A link to your website.

  5. A short description of  your process…Photogram? Printed from negative? Toned? UnusualSubstrate? Inspiration?

  6. Please include your image as an attachment to the email.  Please do not embed the image in the body of the email.

This piece is a collage of cyanotype photograms on cotton fabric, hand stitched to a re-purposed vintage tablecloth.


DEADLINE: October 15, 2022. Submissions received after the deadline will not be published.




SALES: WCD does not handle sales or communication of any kind between audience andartists, therefore it is important that you include your website or contact information forpotential customers.
